Think*Pair*Share
When should I use it?


We know that students learn, in part, by being able to talk about the content. But we do not want that to be a free-for-all. So, when is a good time to use Think*Pair*Share?

· At the beginning of class to review from the previous day.
o Think about what you learned in class yesterday about the heart and lungs. Find a partner. Now, share what you learned with your partner.

· After new information is presented and before students attempt to apply new information.
o

Think about why an engine functions better when the carburetor is clean. Find a partner to discuss this with. Now, share what you learned with your partner.

· After students have applied new learning.
o Think about how successfully you completed the rolling your manikin’s hair with blue rollers. Find a partner to help you discuss your successes and challenges. Share you successes and challenges with your partner.

· At the end of class to review what was learned during that class period.
